Bisnis.com, PEKANBARU — PT Pertamina Hulu Rokan are making efforts to maintain oil production and lifting at Minas Field in the Rokan block, one of Indonesia’s blocks. One such measure is the chemical enhanced oil recovery (CEOR), which is expected to increase production by up to 2,000 barrels of oil per day (bph).

For context, Minas Field is the largest oil field in Southeast Asia and has entered its late-maturity stage with a water cut rate of 99.5%. This means that out of every 100 liters of fluid lifted, only 0.5 liters are actual crude oil, making oil production highly impractical without the use of CEOR technology.
