Bisnis.com, JAKARTA — Despite efforts made by banks to push lending, current conditions paint a bleak picture for credit prospects in the automotive sector following the sector’s long sales slump in 2025 that is has yet to recover from.
According to the Association of Indonesian Automotive Manufacturers, (Gaikindo) wholesale car sales (factory to dealer) has only continued to weaken this year, falling by 15.1% year-on-year (YoY) in September to 62,071 units. Likewise, retail car sales (dealer to consumer) also dropped 12.2% YoY to 63,723 units.
